John got them off ebay from crawdad1234. they were 12.99 for 25
John the 1/16 is #6's and the 1/8 is #4's.
Thanks for the info John. Don't know when I'll get back out got a few chores I got to get done before I can put fishing back on the agenda.
It's actually a #4 hook and these fish were in 3-5' or so of water .I just emailed Mister Twister and asked if they made the floating Jigheads in smaller than #4.They list #4., #2 and #1/0.I'd like to see them in #6 and #8.
Just got back from an hours fishing by the inflow pipe which was flowing just a little.Only 3 Yellow Perch 2 pseeds and a White Perch ,but 21 Gills up to 7.5" hit the floating jighead,16" above a #3 split shot. /size 6? hook .I covered the bend with a worm piece and did 3 things ;deadsticked, slow retrieve ,and jiggle .They all worked but the jiggle combined with slow retrieve was best. Most of the fish were taking on the deposit hump the inflow creates .A few fish were using the cover of leaves blown to the NW pipe by the NE wind. 55 degrees at the surface by the pipe.Plan on going out in another 1/2 hour and see if a few artificials on the floating jig head will attract other fish .I hope that Crappie ,and Walleye move up on this spot later .
nice looking jig and theory.... i like the idea of rubber legs on a jig or fly
my biggest y.perch have been tagged this year on the bottom in "dirty water" fulll of weeds wood and slop... vertical jigging
Thanks John for the info. My pond is rain fed no input other than a good healty rain. I know the perch are deep because when I do catch one there on or near the bottom plus Lake Erie's perch fishing experiences way back when..
Dick, It's been my experience that Perch love an inflow or out flow area .Don't know if this applies to your pond or not but thought I'd mention it anyway.Good luck !
No luck on the perch or anything. When I had the house build I had the pond done at the same time. After the foundation was done I had lots of left over block. Loaded them up in the truck drove down to the deepest part of the pond before water was introduced and built about 6 concrete islands about 6' tall. When the pond filled I kind of forgot where they were believe me after today I found half of them got 3 good snags and got them loose but my half hour was up had to get back inside with the Boss. Have to try some medium depth water next time no block their..
WAY TO GO DICKY ! YOU KEEP COMING UP WITH NEW IDEAS ! BE SURE TO LET US KNOW HOW IT WORKS OUT !
