David, I LOVE fishing after dark especially on full moon!!!!! Summer here night is the best mostly due to the heat!!!! I usually am using intermediate sinking line except for hatches and surfacing fish, or poppers!!!!!!!   On FULL moon the FLOATING LINE COMES OUT with large dark flies or dark poppers!!!!!!

HEY GREG,
 OUTSTANDING SHOT OF THE FISH AND FISHERMAN! GOT a question for you. Do you fish after dark often and is so are you fishing the surface or subsurface? I"ve never tried for gills after Dark but it's been so hot here lately I got to do something to get out more.

I guess if I want to go deep I'll have to change fly line them I guess that's where an extra spool comes in.

Dick, I go with the sinking fly- line because I want to hug the bottom!!!!!!! I usually am hunting for REDEAR, and these GILLCRACKERS!!!! They are usually bottom feeders not always deep but close to bottom!!!!!! An intermediate sinking line allows me to work different depths by working the line slower or faster, or counting down to the depth where I find the fish!!!!

    I do love floating line but I catch the bigger fish along the bottom or suspended!!!!!

Greg now that you mention it I don't think I ever seen you use a floating fly. Why do you like sinking better over floating.

Rex, It was the Greasy Monkey, was fishing it on a sinking line!!!!!!! Got a couple of your foam frogs tied up gonna give them a try!!!!!!! I fish mostly with an intermediate sinking line and go for bottom!!!!! But I do like top water!!!!!!!

Greg we have had some extreme heat also and early morning and late evening is the only time you can get some decent bites going around here.  Would like to fish later at my favorite hole but there two gators close to seven foot that probably get hungry at that time of day. I fish out of a kayak and setting just off the top of the water might make me look tempting.
