Do you love big bluegill?
I caught some remarkable fish out of the unmanaged, and unfed pond this week. But this one, a HBG caught from one of our ponds tonight, made me proud.
It was stocked this spring at a 4" length, and it's now 8" and 10.4 ozs. That gives it a relative weight of over 155%!
That's what I'm talkin' bout!

Jim, I've searched high and low for a HBG specific Wr chart, to no avail. There's just not a lot out there regarding top end for these fish.
I can provide you the stats for a comparable BG though. I don't feel too bad using this chart.....after all, the general concensus is that a BG will outgrow a HBG, all being equal.
12" BG........standard weight of 25.7 ozs
12.5" BG....standard weight of 29.6 ozs
13" BG....standard weight of 33.6 ozs.
Hope this helps.
One chunky fish!
Look at the crazy helmet on that baby! What in the world is in the water?
Hard to believe such a fast growth rate great job Tony
Absolutely super fish Tony. I wonder what that one will top-out at?
Do you have a WR chart on hybrids? And, if so, I was wondering if there are any stats on hybs from 12 to 12.75 inch range.
