I knew Tony would go there......have to have winter to get back to spring....it's all good......I hope our members have a great ice fishing season this winter......keeps me motivated down south.....

Same here, Rick. I used to love ice fishing - and there isn't much of it here in SC. I'm in Leesville, and the only ice I see when fishing ours in my ice tea.

I would rather fish the ice than open water. I love the challenges....both with the fish themselves, as well as the elements. Most BG anglers I know look forward to the spawn, and I don't blame them, as it makes things pretty easy. However in my case, pitting myself against the odds and still managing to catch fish is far more rewarding.

One thing I don't miss.  I took my old auger to show and tell at our retirees club. No body new what it was for. The lakes never freeze in our part of SC.

I do admit I did love ice fishing when I was much younger.
