Do you love big bluegill?
Yesterday I used three types and sizes /Weights and caught on all three : Started with the Hus Spoon 1/12 oz. caught a Pickerel and Bass right away and very small hen Gills. Switched to a 1/8th oz. Kastmaster caught more Gills and finally started hitting bigger males .Thirdly I tried a 1/6th (I guess) 'Super Duper ' and lost a nice fish after some nice deeper swimming and then dropped a male at boat side . I put on a 1/8th Lil'Cleo and got cut off by what must've been a Pickerel .
The small hens were up in the column The Pickerel and Bass were a count down of 10 and 5' respectively the Male Gills were suspended deeper down around 5 or more feet. I didn't have a depthfinder rowing around in a 10 ' boat yesterday but I know from experience I was fishing in 10' depths to 20' . The end of September always has fish in this NW corner in pockets and outside the dead weed tops showing on the surface .

going to have to give this trick a try John !! soon I hope!!
Great fish suspending technique Carl . I like the idea that these small spoons can fit in a small mouth and appear vulnerable like a small baitfish (spoon) attacking a worm piece . Predator notices small baitfish feeding and says" i'll eat both" .
way to go John;; I havent tried using;; hard baits yet for gills; never thought of it!!
Prefer to do it from a boat Dick ,seems to work best .Give me Jigs when fishing from shore .
Thanks for sharing John. I really need to look into spoon chunking Musky mod got me curious but haven't been on the water to check it out.
Hey Keith all you need to know is in Musky Mods Spoonchuckers group: http://bigbluegill.com/group/northamericanspoonchuckers

Its a beauty John.
I'm going to have to add spoons to my bag of tricks. What would be a good starting point John?
Nice work, John!
