I had first leaned towards small minnows as most of the bait dealers quit carrying crickets during the winter months........but I carried old reliable.....a bucket of this year's grass shrimp fry.....that turned out to be the ticket for 27 gills and 7 crappie......These two hit a pink polar jig in 1/64th with a live grass shrimp.....no strikes when the jig was naked......I think the smell of the shrimp was a factor in stained water.....unfortunately more heavy rains are on the way Monday.......

Thanks Tooty......had to take advantage of the mild December weather.....a great day and caught a few nice gills and Crappie........

Surface temps jumped to 55 over the last two days.......gills turned on with these rising temps.......caught on a wind blown slope.......most 6 to 8 feet deep.......
