keith-- a great way to twist wire;; take 2 ends-- put them in a good solid mounted vise-- take the other 2 ends-- put them in a electric drill!  PULL HARD AGAINST THE VISE BEFORE YOU SART THE DRILL!!AND GO SLOW WITH THE DRILL!! it will twist the wire beautifully!  I use to use this method  when I used to make belt buckles!!  when the wire is twisted-- keep a sharp eye on it and do not let it over lap!   just snug it up good.  a better wire for you is stainless tig wire-- proably a 3/32. a 1/8- is pretty dog gone heavy once twisted

Stainless wire in several sizes useful to fishing.
I can get it from the machine shop at work.

What kind of wire? I'm practicing with scraps MIG welding wire. MIG wire will rust so it's no good for fishing applications.

Me too finally broke down and bought one. The tool the book and a coil of wire with shipping and handling less than 40$. Drop the hint for Valentines Day.

Yep. Tack-L-Tool is it. Got it to make lures and rigs. Practicing with it now.

What kind of bender? Is it the Tack-L-Tool from Netcraft?
