Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

I'll continue to pursue gills until the water temperatures drop below 60 degrees and then have a little Fall fun with a few Striped Bass and White Perch.....a Fall tradition here in Northeast North Carolina

If we catch three stripers every time we go out, it'll be done by that night or the next night. Turn them all into gourmet meals for dinner and next day lunch. The missus must be extremely happy with all the catches. I would be a loving neighbor just to have the leftover ;-)

Shiners and Live Eels work well for the Stripers Leo.....most of the time I just keep one because I don't like to freeze Striped Bass....best when it's fresh.....

What do you normally catch them with Jeffrey? Three strippers per day is more than enough good eating, after a nice workout on the water.

Striped Bass season officially opens at 6:00 a.m. next Monday....(3) per day at least 18 inches.....Look forward to stuffing a couple with crab meat and butter....Caesar Salad and some fried rolls and it's a hit!

These are from the past.....I haven't went since Sunday.......shorter days make it tougher to get out after work.........I fish a couple bridges locally with jigs and shiners for nice perch and stripers November through January......Deep water up to 40 feet but these fish suspend in groups......Fun to tight line when my gills get lock jaw! LOL
