Im listening, Jim. Ill haul my stuff out this weekend.

Ive got a bunch of clear plastic crankbaits and other lures that are unfinished. But right now Im digging Marks poppers.

david-the bass tourney guys in my area pay big bucks to have their lures custom airbrushed.not kidding these tournaments pay some good money and these guys will do almost anything to give themselves an edge.if you have the know how and the equipment just saying

Go for it McScruff!  I'm already retired so the time isn't too big a deal.  Not nearly as hard as you might think.  I am contemplating building some crank-baits too.

Hmmmm, airbrush you say? I have several, remaining from my scale modeling days. Air compressor, too. I could get into the whole popper art thing myself.

I've not been a huge fan of the lure, itself; I just don't seem to catch many fish on them. But I may have that sorted out, after talking to Angelo.

Looking at yours, Im now thinking the art side of this might give me something to do with my time, come Retirement, Phase II.

Thanks, Mark!

That looks terrific!

McScruff did the lateral line on the sides freehand with the airbrush.

How did you make the mottled finish on the side?

Nice Popper Mark. Wished I could tie in feather when I do they always look like dodo.

Thanks guys. I only made three of these, just put two in the mail but saved one to try out on the local bass. If it produces I might make a batch of a dozen. This is the first time I used 3d eyes on one of my poppers too.
