I use white thread collars as well as red .I like black headed Eagle Claw jig heads on these jigs .Also a " Skunk" jig with White and Black Rabbit fur!.

Thanks John. that's what I did exactly with my 1/64 jigs. Rather than red and white threads and plain body, I used black thread and the jig's painted attractant colors of bright pink, chartreuse, and green-yellow with UV flash for various day conditions. Hope this method yield results. Now..to raid my worm bins. Hope those red wigglies and crawlers are nice and juicy for the harvesting. Once again, awesome methodology with rabbit fur.

Here you go Leo brown should be good .I do real good with black only on overcast days! White when it's bright!

An inch long 64th oz.Jig.The Rabbit Fur is 1/4 " passed the hook bend .Deadly on 2# test on overcast day.

Copying your rig John. Didn't have any long black rabbit fur, so I used the light brown shorter mask fur instead. Hope this weekends outing will yield some good hunting.

i get them from a ma and pa website called chuck and deb .com.i am not sure i think they are eagle claw or mustad.i think they pour their own .they are sharp wire hooks and have had no problems.lots of sizes and styles.they have lots of small stuff but the online catalog is a little confusing.usually have my stuff in 3 days.i think they have an actual store in ohio if that helps

Leo, you give me way too much credit but ya warm my heart with your approoval!Ha ha!

Yes I feel I'm turning the table on these fish that see my tipped jig .I was concious of not giving the jig too much of my over doing it motion .The wind on the two lb test worked the bait better than I could with twitches.I'll say it again with gloved hands fishing today ,those fish were ACTIVE!

Jim -I'm happy with the Eagle Claw Jigs as long as their quality stays consistent .What brand are you ordering?

Comment by jim cosgrove on April 11, 2012 at 12:39pm

john -rabbit hair moves even when the jig is resting .my favorite for jigs.i tie em in dark brown and catch everything.even a monster grass carp last year.been concentrating on the flies too much.ordering some jighaeds tonight
