This fish was my favorite this morning......right at 10.25 and just a frisbee............I caught this toad on an olive Gronaw Grass Shrimp with a live shrimp threaded on for protein.........

Quality at it's best.

The gills had advanced much farther last year at this point with some larger fish being taken on crappie rigs near flooded timber in the shallows.........

The larger gills are more consistently caught when March rolls around.....the Gronaw River Critter below produced this fine gill........

This is what we're after this Spring Joe.....wait to you set the hook on one of these guys on that telescopic gear..

This jig was fished at two feet below a quill with a live grass shrimp added.....this is the third season I've had this Gronaw Grass Shrimp available and they have proven to be hard to beat down here......

Indeed Carl.....like they have muscles......well fed with those round dynamics........hard to beat......

You probably wouldn't recognize it now Don.....Knotts Island is a substantial community now with a major ferry system........They have caught some real nice yellow perch in their this month but way too much wind for me to head out there......sure you remember how the wind can get out there near the ocean.......
