Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

This Tall 10 inch Gill was a freak on light tackle and being lip hooked with the #6 Eagle Claw, he was returned to keep my home river great!

Yeah, your heart rate goes up when a fish like this rolls over next to the boat Chris....I had to pick this one up with the landing net.....

This fish was worthy of a replica but I always lean towards letting them grow.....I've transferred about a hundred similar gills to the lake @ the BassPro Shops in Hampton, Virginia so the kids can get addicted early.....

Thanks again to you all...if you want to see a fighter here he is....this body type makes for some high torque and drag busting action......We went around the boat a couple times because he was owning my light action rod......He was good and perky in the cooler water so we snapped a shot and put him back.....He may be a king in this region that people never fish......Old Ebbtide is running great and all the subsystems are functioning well so I'm braced for another peak season on the Albermarle Sound................
