Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

These are made from the little corks I recently found at the local outdoor shop.
I cut them in half, and just did the usual build-a-popper routine. They're about the size of a nickel and I got a little carried away with the polka dots.
But, they should do the trick.

Well... they do look pretty cool, if I do say so! I use an iPhone for most stuff, but the little screen on the thing leaves much to be desired. This is the first time I've seen them on a large monitor.

Im still not happy with the dots - they look like they have the pox. Ill be more restrained next time. And a third coat of sealer is in order.

Thanks Leo
There really IS a certain magic to top popping. When the fish blasts the bug and too line take off, well ... Keeping a cool head is hard.

Great job! Looks like killers on water tops.

Thanks Keith - the same corks ;-)

The yellow one has a guinea feather hackle, which I tied in like a wing. I wound it on, then splayed it outward to either side, so it lies parallel to the hook. I'm hoping it gives a tempting silhouette from below.
