Do you love big bluegill?
Added a fiberglass fly rod (6'6" 3wt) to my collection today. Couldn't find any big 'gills to test it, but I did break it in with a couple average ones.
Overhead and roll casts are both easy and accurate with it, but the wind tested my ability today.

MIKE;; I KNOW OF AT LEAST 3 GUYS ON BBG THAT MAKES RODS;; WALT FOREMAN;; MARK STEINE;; AND DAVID ( TOOTY) EITUTIS;;; OLE TOOTY;;; HAS PROABABLY FORGOT MORE ABOUT VINTAGE FISHING RODS; N REELS THAN MOST OF US KNOW !
I know it's a much faster action then the Lamiglas 3wt I had a couple years ago. I'd rate it as a medium action. Traded the Lamiglas rod for a bamboo 3wt, and that's a fun little rod to fish!
looks like an Epic outta new zealand to me for sure...
David,
I'm not sure what brand the blank is. It's a 3 piece with spigot ferrules.
GREAT SHOT of the fish and gear ,love these shots cause it gives proper perspective of how big the fish is. What kind of blank is the rod made with ? A beauty for sure and Congrats !!!
Carl,
It's a 3 weight made by a custom rod maker that uses the name "Cane and Silk" on his rods and makes bamboo & fiberglass rods.
Looks like a great set up Mike and it's already broke in.
LOOKS LIKE A GOOD ROD MIKE;; WHAT NAME BRAND IS IT? WHAT WT ?
