Do you love big bluegill?

20140912--FELT LIKE NOVEMBER PANFISH OUTING

the bite was on fish were less than 6ft deep and scattered. middle class fish today 7 to 8.25" all on Gulp chartreuse 1" minnow and pink maggot drop shotting.

Dick... i agree... ice fished gills the best!

Comment by Tony Livingston on September 14, 2014 at 8:52am: I'll take colder water bluegills over warm water bluegills any day. The fish themselves taste even better, there are no bugs to deal with ,and if you fish public water there is usually less lake traffic,

But most of all, these days I just get more personal satisfaction from locating and catching cold water gills. I appreciate the challenge much more than I do when targeting warm water fish.

Ive have fished in a boat with my guides icing up and snowing. its just so disappointing to see summer patterns end so quickly this year. our open water fishing season is short enough already!

Leo it sure was cold.... frost warning last night... ill bet the lake temps are in the fifties. very close to fall turnover conditions.
