You're right , Dave, black is an excellent color. I have some 1/100th oz jigs I tied with a black body, black sprig of marabou for a tail and a pink head...it killed em back in March and early April. Just got some jigs from LedHed on this site and they are simply amazing works...can't wait to give them a go!

I tie my own jigs and have perfected a couple crappie killer patterns, but I must say, just looking at those jigs, I know they are fish magnets.

You tie great jigs and they catch...I know. The ones you send me caught Crappie,Gills PSeeds and Bass! I use a material I get at Ramsey Outdoors they call Baitfish emulator that is subtler than the crystal braid
Have you tied more in orange, and used them Jim?I read in a book called "The Scientific Angler" that orange/Red are Bluegill catching colors. Oh,there's an orange head red tail ...lower right.

Nice jigs I like the colors , ane the eyes are important for gills to zero in on. In my opinion you forgot an important color, Black . Ithink it works when the action slows down, maybe a red or orange tail. Nice job.

Ouch, I meant to say over the tip of the hook of the jig.

Hey These jigs look GREAT! Has anyone tried to use a this wire or some stiff amterial that comes off of the neck and extends to the tip or over the tip of the jig? It seems like that would look kinda like legs, and ever more important may block a snag or weed. A big headache where I fish is the abundant brush. My being a novice also adds to the frustration. My background is tossing jigs etc that weigh ounces plus rather than fractions of an ounce. Passion has taken over common sense however, so i am forever after the gills and crappie.

I love the eyes. It's the best part of every little bluegill bait!
