Thnx again guys.

Kent - I was throwing jigs the majority of the time and tried fly lining super duper trout worms. Keith - our host - raises his own, things are monsters. Ross and Keith were using a drop shot and a lightly weighted worm - seems to be the ticket on this lake. They don't fish crickets (?)! March and April is the time you probably a better time to go - Keith said they really bite better before spawning.

Eric - 2 of these would make a fish fry LOL.

Bruce - Lake Havasu sits on the border of SoCal and Arizona - 4 hour drive for us. We stayed in Parker (Keith keeps a boat in dry storage there), fished on the Arizona side and our Cali license were good.

Can't believe the runs Jeff. Even the smallmouth Bass. This place is so huge - deafing silence - and fish that don't even know what a hook looks like.I had a 2lb+ on and there were 3 fish following it - Ross made a cast and got his 3.5 - unreal! Water is extremely clear. I want to go again soon but Keith is taking his family next week - the following week I'm going to the Azores. So it will be at least 3 weeks before I can get back there.

Man!  What a red!  Yeah LH,  I was curious if 2 pound would work at Havasu.  Sucks when you have a big one on that you really want to land or at least see it, and it breaks you off.  Congrats on this beautiful toad Sonny!

I need a month off to do a long road trip that settles in at Havasu. I'll hit Reelfoot for gills and crappies, Lake Greeson, Ark. for crappies and white bass and then do some Texas private water spots for trophy bass and coppers, then bee-line west for the Havasu red ear mecca.

All I really need is time and money! I'll have to work on it...

Thnx Jim. You need to do an article Lake Havasu and Colorado river Red Ear and Bluegill fishing. They got some big hybrids also. Posted a pic of Keith with a 1lb 5oz hybrid. Can't believe the girth on these fish. I broke off two fish that I really wanted to see - was using 2lb test  (going to 4 or 6 next time).
