Similar to John Sheehan's situation...an outflow spillway in a small PA lake. I got 137 crappie in this small area on 4-18-11 on jigs in the muddy water. Beige and olive and black.
This is actually on the southern end of the lake...it gets more sunlight, and warmer temperatures, off the rocks as you walk around the corner and head north. 30 acres. bass, gills, some monster white crappie to 16 inches once in a great while, medium gills, yel perch and some 30 pound carp. Water was muddy, didn't matter.

Inflows and outflows... great places to stick with.

What direction of the lake was this section Jim? The spillway on my home lake is in the SE corner .
