Carl Hendrix "Rascal" caught a nice bass today - which broke off my tippet in the near shore stuck up branches.
It was green with pearl white sili-legs, similar to those above.
The fly settled, two strips and bang!! Fish on!
I went in after the fish, to untangle it, and the ungrateful wretch got clear before I could do the honors.
He gets to fight another day AND laugh at me, standing there in knee deep water like a doofus.

Life is good.

Yes, Mr. Cosgrove....as if in prophetic answer to your comments, the Janns catalog came today.
I haven't let it out of my sight since!

But theres always ebay.

Yeah fellas the bungee rubber works, but I prefer the effect given by the others.
The glass beads give a slow sink rare, Leo. I've got several kinds.

I've made a handful of the barricaded worms today, using the glass beads (6/0) I got from Walmart the other day. Used a variety of living rubber and silicon legs that I got from eBay, which is quite inexpensive, but quite alluring to the fishes. David, as Jim said, stick with the silicon, and living rubber when possible, either salvaged from the bass skirts or just from packages on sale ($1.50 for a good package that will last quite a few flies).

Hi McScruff one other thing, if you are looking for beads I use,  fusionbeads.com   I had a hard time finding a pumpkin color transluscet silver lined bead for a fly that I tie, I've had good luck wit them I hope that helps you out.

I've got some of the Hareline, and a new color on the way.
Some of the silicone skirt material its also in the stash.
I just like to try alternates, especially common household items.
