I here you Dick....I never stop, I just slow down a little and recharge but I keep an ear to the ground.....Winter Crappie are fine for me.....
Jeffrey don't forget there is always that winter crappie bite. When I lived in N.C. we fished for them with a white 1/32 oz marabou jig. We caught many Crappies and that was from shore just have to five very slow. Then were some good time back then.
Rick, sitting in the float tube, hip boots = water weight. I have a pair.
Leo - What about a cheap pair of hip boots.......?
looks like some of my old pics with coolers full, awesome.
You truly are a dedicated man Jeffrey. You have everything stacked, prepped, and ready to go. I'm gearing for the crappie as well. I have the go-ahead by the Mrs. to head out into the mountain this Saturday at 0400hrs for a half day of R&R in the frigid water, float tubing. Like your water, it's about 65 to 70 on the surface, the lake's depth is about 25ft. So, the gills will be near the bottom. However, bass and crappie will be in the shallow wee beds getting ready to spawn. My fly arsenal is loaded for them. Hopefully I can a mess of them like you before I call it quit, as freeze my buns off in the water wearing only swim shorts..no wader..no fun wearing wader at this temp because I'll be sweating way too much.
Last night the Little River was showing 67 to 68 degrees on the surface but our air temperatures are rebounding to near 80 early next week for a few days.....every time that happens it'll extend our season a few more days.....I'm usually able to catch a decent mess through Halloween......remember these Coppernose are very temperature sensitive. I have back-up plans and Crappie and Fliers pin pointed for the temperature changes that's one reason I haven't committed to a certain body of water yet for this weekend....Thanks Leo!
What's the water temp there now Jeffrey?
Thanks guys....we're looking into the face of dropping water temperatures and a declining bluegill bite so get some while you can.......
Sir Jeffrey you go gettum man
