Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

This was the first fish she caught all by herself without any help. It was a blast and I wish I could have had it on video.

Zach, did you caught it on a crawler's segment or a red wiggly?

Comment by Zach Pierce on April 24, 2012 at 2:30pm

she has since caught more since then, but this was her first by herself and all se was doing is playing in the water with the pole and the GSF took the worm

So cute! She even wore her Dora's dress. Congrats on catching a fingerling. Keep at it. She'll be catching a giant goliath grouper soon enough.

Mine was a rainbow trout in a "trout pond" place somewhere in Wisconsin. Either Door County or the Dells, I think. Hard to recall, I must have been 5 or 6. Next were small bluegill or other sunfish on a family trip to Florida, in a pond that belonged to a motel where we stayed one night.

How many people remember there first fish?

Was it the infamous Green Sunfish, as above?

Well, you have a picture, and a memory. That's more than most peoples first fish. Now we've got it too! Sophia's first fish all by herself.

My grandsons fishing birthday party provided opportunities for pics and vid and I got both, while bank fishing. But when I took them out individually on the Boogieboat, I had no camera with me. They each caught some nice ones out there, with no pics or vids. Just my memories of the action, the awe of the fight a big bluegill puts up, the pride on their faces as they showed them off to the "landlubbers". So every time I look at the pics of the small ones they caught from the bank, I'll veiw the vid in my head of the monsters from the Boogieboat. Every time you see this pic of Sophia, you can see the video too, it's in your head. It is a great picture intro for a great memory.
