Look at that hunk of meat. Great job! Like Jeff said, you should have gone out with your tube, and nail more of them. The water is pretty hot lately, with the local temp hitting record high at 97°F for spring. Let see if we can beat that 105°F before summer hits.

Very nice fish, Anthony! That's probably as big as any red ear I've ever caught! Congrats!

I actually caught him on the drop off of one of those large boulders behind me surprised me. Also caught a trout on a meal worm. Dad caught one bluegill lost a couple. There where hundreds of small 3-5inch gills cruising by the submerge branches. I hooked a few up on my smallest snap bean but they shook it several times. I know where my jig is at I can see it just below the surface, might try to get it if its still there next time I pass on my float tube.

Nice Anthony!  Don't you think that if you were actually out on the water in a 'tube, you may have caught several of those big REs? ...And you might not have lost your jig!
