i catch a lot stripers crappie or gill fishingreally a suprise when i see it is a 2 pound fish that pulled that hard.they have destroyed a few rods and burned up some reels.they are awesome fish.can't imagine you guys that get those huge ones down south.my biggest was about 9 pounds on an ultra light thank god we were in open water.

I'm going to say White Bass.  Hybrid Stripers would have strong, dark, broken lines.  I've gotten into some with my 5wt.  Yes, they are a blast!

They are a good eating, white flesh fish, and their fight is nothing short of incredible. Congrats on some good hybrids, Carl!

I never ate one but I have 12 here to try, I'm going to give them another year or so though. Hopefully catch them on the flyrod again.

Wipers are fantastic to eat. Try them as ceviche, mixed with shrimps, with roasted corn tortillas.

carl I got one on my two weight fly rod last month. Carl you're right it's an absolute blast. Took me about a half an hour to get it in. I have a picture of him in my photo section I caught it on a dragonfly nymph that I made a couple weeks before. I've hooked up on them before but never got one in. I contribute me catching one on the two weight fly rod to the cold water but all in all it was still a blast.

Carl where you been hiding. Haven't heard from you for a while. A hybrid striper is a cross between a white bass and a striped bass, you can tell it's a hybrid by the broken stripe in its side. Hybrid stripers grow much larger than white bass and smaller than stripers. Carl I never ate one so I don't know how they taste some people say they're good. Carl need to see you on here more buddy been missing you. take care and will catch you later.
