Anyone ever noticed the purple chin? I finally did this year and am curious as to the reason the White Perch uses it.My bro' Greg suggests its an oxygen indicater possibly.I suggested a reaction to cold like the purple lips from swimming in colder temps.BUT this fish is a summer fish so that cant be it ..or can it be ?Gotta catch real cold water White Perch and see if there is a difference.I'm searching here I realize!
Would love to get a take from a Fishery biologist on this!
