Looks good Andy, but would be better with a healthy coat of clear powder coat on it. would give it more definition and depth....

Handsome jig what is the weight if you don't mind me asking.
nice looking tie Andy
I think it is a glitter/powder paint mix. The embossing kit comes with a stamp pad that applies a liquid bonding agent that makes the powder stick and then you hit it with the heat gun. Kind of backwards from powder paint but same end result. My wife says that powder paint works with the kit.
Ok. Most of the folks on the jig tying board I'm on say to do an opaque coat first, in your case, red. Mix the glitter with clear powder paint (I'm using 200% Clear from Rosey's). You don't need much glitter with the powder. Do a second coat with the glitter/clear mix.
You can also mix some of the opaque color with a lot of the clear (I think it's a 10:1 ration Clear:Color), with a shot of glitter thrown in. The result will be a glitter candy coat. I haven't tried to do that, yet. Just bought some glitter today.
That is my crafty wife's embossing powder. She did this one; it was one of the first ones we tried and figured out the red glitter really needs an undercoat because it doesn't cover well. But those big grains catch light and reflect it and they are adhered to the head better than it may look. I used another one and purposefully dragged it a bit. Held up well.
