Those yellow bass can really pull hard, can't they Jacob! I use to occasionally catch them out of a sand pit I fished, and got a big fish citation for one when I lived in IA.

Sounds like you had a fun trip. I took the SAT test yesterday morning so my dad and I just hit the closest lake to our house which I hadn't been to since I was really little. It's an overfished 600 acre lake with a stunted gill population. We managed one 8 inch gill (didn't get a picture) and a  nice yellow bass at about 12 inches that fought EXTREMELY hard.

No worries.....we caught all medium gills in Carolina on yesterday's trip....nothing larger than 9 inches but we still had a good time getting out there...no work or school as I had some guests on the boat yesterday.......
