20150309-ICE FISHING WIXOM LAKE

2015.03.09 - today wasnt supposed to be a fishing day...heating and cooling problems kinda has kept me grounded with the SUV... taking it for an innocent test drive this afternoon lead me to the boat launch at wixom lake. my closest access point. coincidentally all my ice fishing gear is always loaded and preloaded at all times in this vehicle. My vehicle instinctively knows its way to this launch ... a short walk and talking to the usual bunch of anglers looks to be a slow day despite some nice sunshine and 40 degs and up temps. i still unloaded the SuV and went to the usual starter spots for me ... instant hook ups but definitely no braggers. after a very nice complimentary brat sandwich and beer from a couple of local anglers i continued to the creek main channel junctions i was interested in. on my journey to these locations i stopped at many strategic locations that were already pre drilled from the heavily fished weekend. i call these smart holes because they coincide with my waypoints. lol... i continued connecting with many perch... many full bodied small females... i kept on this pattern hoping for some jumbo females to fall... it never happened but i felt i was close to the big fish pattern.... continue tomorrow!
