Nice fish! We used to catch those at the Salton Sea, but they actually were Tilapia Mossambica, with the big males being black and white with red fins. Also had that large lipped-mouth. Some over 3 pounds! They would clobber small spoons or anything bright and flashy. Super strong fish!

This one I caught on a little Jig Spinner, what I think happened was I ran it over the bed and he snatched it up to get rid of it. Pure luck to be honest.
