Do you love big bluegill?
May 25th, 1972...Mr. Harold Catey of Newcastle, Indiana was fishing the strip pits of Greene Sullivan State Forest near Linton when he caught this fish....
13.5" long, 15.5" in girth, and 3.25 lbs.....a new state record, which has stood for nearly 41 years.

Great post Tony....I always enjoy looking back at the history of the sport and read about the stories of days gone by......I would want a front row seat to hear Mr. Catey talk about catching this fish.....
Wild strain monster male Bluegill. You can tell it's a male even in B&W. What a catch!
