I 've only been using #2 Baitholder and the largest wacky worm hook from this kit i have which I think is a #1. I believe the kit includes the 3 smallest Wacky Worm hooks so perhaps its not a Circle or an Octopus hook after all.
JOHN;;; YO UMEAN IN A SIZE NO. 2 HOOK ;; CIRCLE;; OR OCTUPUS ??
Allen Morgan suggested Circle hooks .I switched back to #2 Baitholder after trying a #1 Octopus hook, which is much smaller, from an Eagle Claw dropshot kit . I am looking for larger Circle hooks to try out . For now i've had to only leave two swallowed hooks .Not too bad but I am hoping with the right circle hook size I can prevent that . Thanks Jeff!
You know, if you used circle hooks, you wouldn't have to "set hard". You just start reeling them in. The fish end up setting the hook themselves in the corner of their mouths. They rarely get hooked deep or in their throats. A very cool hook for catch and release too.
http://identifyfish.blogspot.com/2010/11/white-catfish-ameiurus-cat... . "Big Head ,Squat Body , White chin Barbels . ,slightly forked Tail. olive gray or slate gray on the head and bluish gray or slate gray on its back and sides, tapering to a white belly."
Jeff that " bump " is the Cat fish puffing out it's big Gills.
We always keep our bait slowly moving on or near the bottom by drifting along in a float tube or boat or by reeling it in. You cover more water this way, rather than have the bait just sitting in one place on the bottom. What's that bump on the "chin" of that fish?
Every White Catfish I've ever seen was white
Bet that was fun.
I am now convinced its a White Catfish because of its huge head and White Chin Barbels
I am now wondering if this is a White Catfish ,not a Channel Cat!
