Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Had a great time today. Caught about 50 BG - released all. Several over 9" and a few close to 10". This is a sample of the pics and the lures that were the most productive. The little green spinner bait with black grub caught the bigger fish.

Gerome;;  sometime you need to go around Browns Ferry;; we use to see a lot of really big gills around the intake area.  be ready at the rendevou for some fly fishing training!!  once the fever gets you;; theres no going back!! LOL

Thanks Mark and Jeffrey. Back years ago before I left my BG fishing to chase after smallmouth my brother in law and me had found an area on lake Guntersville that consistently held some quality copper nose but since I hadn't been actively pursuing them for over 30 years since my return to my roots I hadn't been able to locate them.

Thanks Dick, Carl and Slip Sinker for your comments.  I did have fun with the fish today. I was so hoping to hit the 10" mark and came "oh so close" - maybe next time! Carl, I don't know about that Fly Fishing but we'll see. I'll just have to make a trip with you and see how a master does it!!!
