Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

One of my "secret weapon" for big Bluegill. Easy to tye, easy to fish and the panfish love it. Tip with a waxworm, cricket or earthworm. Works by itself too.

The real secret, Bill, is to grow a proper-length goatee or equivalent of facial hair. You see, since I have shaven totally, I have yet to land a decent bluegill.

I am convinced that 'sparing the razor blade will spoil the bluegill.'

Looks extremely deadly........this will be my mid March project.

Yes Dick.  It's a 1/48 oz jig head with a No. 8 red hook.  I coated the head with some black sparkle for some added flash.  Almost every Bluegill and Redear that I clean has some black aquatic insects in their stomachs, so black is one of my favorite colors.

Is that made with a jig.

Yep, got a few of these similar designed stocked in my arsenal too. Perfect for trouts too, floating just off the bottom using a foam body. A massive killer.
