You read and here about many different causes Bill, drought conditions and hurricanes to name a few......I'm not an avid bass angler but I make it over to the Coinjock area a couple times a year and catch some nice bass...It still gets fished pretty hard by amateur bass clubs from Carolina and Virginia but old timers talk of the drop off.....

I was told the weeds kept the salt water out of the sound and when the weeds left the water had to large a percentage of salt andthe bass didn't spon?????

In a canal just off the intercoastal,  I lost the biggest bass I ever hooked that was over 20 years ago......good news is I catch that fish (in my mind) several times a year!!!!

It's still hit and miss Bill.....the fishing has been good lately but the weeds aren't totally back!

Used to bass fish Currituck Sound until the weeds left. Are the weeds still gone from the sound!!!!
