Used the tool finally on a fly rod for fly line to leader , works great Mike!

Yes Mike .I haven't used it yet but I will .

John,

Did you get the tool yet?

Comment by Mike Cooper on February 19, 2017 at 5:59pm

I ordered a second one for my tackle bag (baitcast & spinning gear).

So far I've found the best knot transfer from the tool to the line/hook requires a hard/quick pull to transfer the line. Don't be timid about yanking it off the tool!

John,

Mine is the tie-fast combo tool by Sierra Stream & Mountain (made in the USA) -

The one you ordered looks like the regular tie-fast tool -

Either of them should be able to tie all the knots shown in the video -

Mike-I am hoping the version of the tool i got  helps with more than the leader to fly line blood knot? Loop knot and Snell knots would be two others I'd like my tool to facilitate. Is yours the Creative Angler Knott Tool or another version?

Got the knot tool today (I got the model with the nippers & hook sharpener) and I'm impressed! Actually works "as advertised". Replaced the hook hone and nippers on my chest pack and gained a knot tying tool that works in the process.

I tried tying a nail knot, tying a fly to the line, snelling a hook, and joining two lines (blood knot alternative), and all went smoothly!

I think you'll like the tool John.
