Leo, something else I'm hoping to do, is use a popper/dropper rig, with a size 12 Muddler minnow on top, and a HUGE Clouser in Bass colors below/behind it.  Hoping to trigger a competitive response, and get a feeding strike on the minnow, or a defensive strike on the clouser.

Excellent tactic. Will use that later.

hey Allen, I like the blank so far it is very light which helps when you are casting for hours.  I get a cramp these days something that I didn't worry about seems like not that long ago ha ha!  everything you need to know about putting a rod together is on youtube and another great site is Rodbuildingforum.com. You can build one in a couple of afternoons.

Color me green with envy.  I've only had a double like that once, and I fish a LOT of popper-dropper combos.

Stay safe in the storm.

How do you like that Rainshadow blank?  I've thought about it, but don't know the foggiest about tying up a rod.

That always makes for a good day.  Popper dropper combo is hard to beat.  Looks like two good ones.

yes Jeffrey we might be in for a blow.  I fished yesterday and today to try to keep the fever at bay during the bad weather.  Guess I'll tie some flies and work on a fly rod build. I got a rainshadow rx7 blank (9 ft. 4 wt) I have had it since January and  just started working on it. what a procrastinator I am!
