I used to debate the 'gold hook' thing...thinking that it would spook picky fish. But tipping solves that, and I haven't noticed any difference in strike numbers as opposed to bronzed hooks, which rust all too soon.

I'll bet those are killers! I like anything with pink, red, or orange. I do well on those colors all year long, open water and through the ice.
