When I was a little kid and my dad would take me fishing at a nearby small lake, I caught lots of Bluegill and I was so fascinated by their beautiful colors and markings! The greens, the golds, the yellow and bright orange of the spawning males. Dad would say "what are you looking at? Put him in the bucket or let him go before he dies!" Dad did enjoy fishing, but he really didn't look closely at a fish like I did. I still take a little time to look at and appreciate the gorgeous, splendid colors on all fish, especially panfish. I'm sure that's part of the reason I became a fish taxidermist.
