Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

#rd attempt getting closer to where I want to be except I got in a hurry that's a no no and cut off one of his legs in the trimming process. Woven body brown and olive with olive dubbing and mono eyes need to be a size smaller. Legs and tail are goose biots.

Tooty it did take me 3 days you hit the nail right on the head. Most of my problem was the line or thread I used to weave with. The video I was watching said to use embroidery thread. That was a disaster. So from there on I tried ultra chenille that worked out fair. Went to hobby lobby yesterday and found a beefier nylon and that's were I am thus far although It still took the better part of a day you know how you have to walk away from something for awhile I done a lot of that.

Unfortunately I thinks that's about all I have left David is my imagination so I guess I'm good to go there. I really do like trying different stuff.

Pretty cool, Dick. Thanks for sharing.
What does Tooty say?... "You're only limited by your imagination!"

It's indestructible and a way to get 2 or 3 colors segmented through the abdomen. I won't be able to tell you how it's done but a video is worth a  thousand words. I seen the info on Youtube. Go to Youtube and type in fly tying a woven fly. There are a few ways to do it. This is my 1st attempt so if I can do it I know you can. This was the easiest way I seen but I'm sure as I watch more I'll learn more and get into 3 color of threads.

Pretty cool. I've got some biots (our something like them), currently residing in a dried floral arrangement. I'll have to give them a try, when the flowers get switched out.
Can you describe the "woven" element? What's that all about?
