Thank you for the comeback Jen. I'll have to invest in some sinking line and see if I can get another spool for my reel.

Dick I use sinking line 90% of the time. I've found that its easier to find the depth bbg are at based on how quick or slow I retrieve my line. Because I'm in my float tube I can cast out to the deep & hunt for them & if I dont find them there I cast toward shore & retrive a little more quickly. If I catch them shallow on retrieve I then might switch to floating line. Lately I tie both weighted & unweigjted of the same fly so I can adjust accordingly.

So Jen Nay Jedi do you use both lines then, like sinking for your wet flies?

Comment by Jen Nayfly on October 12, 2012 at 3:17pm

Dick, it is a wet fly unweighted. on floating line will go just below the surface, then on sinking line will sink slowly.

Got some materials from the arts and crafts store. Will mock this but don't have this olive/dark green estez for usage. Will supplement something else, hopefully will land some crappie on Saturday.

Jen, is that a #12 wet fly long hook shank?
