An amazing fish...

Like Jeff said, the body dynamics lean heavily toward bluegill along with the larger ear tab that would be characteristic of a male bluegill.

Lack of distinct barring on the sides and the mouth structure point to red ear traits.

Not scientific by any means, but I agree with Walt and Jeff that this fish is most likely a bluegill/redear hybrid.

My guess is Bluegill! Not matter what kind of sunfish...hybrid.... redear.... its real nice BIG sunfish/bluegill!

Can anyone give me an opinion on this. I think it is a redear but maybe a bluegill.  This is another view. It is a phone pic as I forgot my camera.
