Do you love big bluegill?

Yes, Leo, this is one of the ponds I manage and guide on. Four years ago when I started working with it, the bluegill averaged 3"...So the pond has improved slightly since then.
I've guided three parties so far this year on this pond, and each time they've caught at least twenty bluegill over a pound in a morning's fishing. On the day this fish was caught, we had six that registered between 19 and 21 ounces on the scale I now realize was off; if Jim is right, we had six bluegill that went between 23 and 25 ounces each.
Golly! Look at that meaty thing. Is this a private pond that you oversee?
Thanks, Carl!
any body would be proud to catch these!! real good going walt!!
No worries!
Sure, I forgot you manage these ponds. It was all I could think of... LOL
No fillet knife for these big ones - back in the drink they went after a quick photo. So they can be caught again when they're over two pounds.
Two filet sandwiches in that one!
This fish would've gone twenty-five to twenty-seven ounces, if that scale was indeed four to six ounces light. This one registered 21 oz. on the (crapoid) kitchen scale.
That's a chunk wow!
