McScruff you know books are a good source of some information but I found when it comes to fly tying anything goes and you can throw lots of that info away. Not saying books are not worth it we get lots out of them just that we do our experiments our own way that's how we basically come up with some of our flies and ask lots of questions. I would rather talk to a live person than read a book that's just me I'm sure some other people are just the opposite. Just my 2 cent worth and every time I get my 2 cent worth in a conversation I get myself in trouble.

Ive been messing around with tying foam-bodied "dry" flies, so I dont need genetic dry hackle.
Its a cool concept I got from one of my books. Well see how it works out.
