Do you love big bluegill?
My first black field cricket tied on a #10 3x dry fly hook. I need to do a lot of work but I think I have the basics down. It only took 4 hours now I have to work on my flaws and getting faster at tying it.

Carl I can and will make that happen.
Greg I'll do that I have every intention of doing so. I know it don't mater how it looks if a fish wants it it will take it. All I'm saying is it didn't turn out the way I thought it should have and I'll make the adjustment needed on the next one but in the mean time I'll be getting this one wet and hopefully catching some fish.
dicky-- the only thing this bug needs is some fishing line-- water-- and some gills!!
DICK, If ANYONE else had tied this FLY YOU would have TALKING IT UP!!!! Now FLY TYING MASTER DICK, BASK in the GLOW!!!!!! ADD WATER and CATCH FISH!!!!!!

Vince here is where I got the recipe. I ask for the Brown cricket and he sent me this one and said replace the black with the brown he hadn't done a brown one. Apparently they don't have crickets in Scotland.
Thanks Rex. In awhile I'm hoping to get a chance to use it. I'm not happy with it but I know the fish probably don't care much as long as it looks like a cricket. Again thanks and good luck
Wow, Dick!! That is a great looking black cricket. Got a recipe to share? I have never tried tying one so complex looking. I think you got a real winner already.
Dick. That's a great looking cricket. Excellent job on proportions. If that doesn't pull them in nothing will. Cricket pattern has been killing them for me lately.
Thanks Mark but certainly a long way from a pro.
Thanks Greg it is getting closer but a long way from me liking it yet.. I guess it will be on hold for awhile then I'll give her heck.
