Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

I also employed the smelt color pattern in gulp for a few nice bites.......

Thanks Carl.......probably the most important factor is the fertile waters I fish and the variety of natural forage.......................I like most anglers have my favorites but I always like to try new things and ideas.........

Jeffery; you come up with more ways to use lures and baits than any one I know of; and they all work !

The gulp/live bait combination on a ball jig is lethal as well.........gulp products are not durable though......go through quite a few during aggressive  periods........

looks like a deadly set up jeff!

This is a Splash Jig with even more color introduced with the Gulp Alive 1" minnow as well as the live cricket tipped on.....deadly combination for bass, crappie and sunfish in many areas....

I would never do that Dick... Well maybe sometimes

Jacob I can't believe you impaled that poor cricket like that I can see Jeffrey has left his mark.

The pumpkinseed colored atomic tubes just kill the smallmouth and longear in the creeks in my area.

Comment by Jeffrey D. Abney on April 21, 2013 at 12:41pm

Funny you mentioned them Jacob, I just ordered some of those and a couple jars of the Gulp Alive waxies too...I'm always experimenting with something......so much creativity in the bait market these days it's hard not to try new stuff! This bait has been a perfect marriage with my ten foot telescopics.......I've had a lot of fun using this method!

That's true they are not durable but they really work. Have you tried the berkely atomic tubes?
