Nice shellcraker!!! I am glad to see it made you happy when you caught it. They are fun to catch.  I am happy it is starting to warm up in northwest Illinois.

Nice! Their loss is your gain! Limestone lake, what more can you ask for. Instant purified water treatment system for your fish. Lucky you!

Limestone quarry that's a maximum of 16 feet deep.  The county mined limestone back in the '40's for the county roads, but eventually they encountered lower and lower quality material, and it became an economic nightmare, so they sold it to a private enterprise that eventually created building sites.

12 acres of pure heaven! Since it's a quarry lake, how deep is it Bruce? Curious on the mineral types that allows you to dig deep without breaking every tool in the shed, or rather, contractor's yard.

That's in my back yard!  It's a 12 acre quarry lake.
