Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Fish are still there - not a lot of fun in the wind. Got out for an hour of this and went back in.

Greg, this is what we deal with at this lake, and every other lakes around here. One minute it was calm, and literally the next minute, turbulence.

The strange thing about this lake is, even with an anchor, you'll be swaying in the wind like a kite out of control. iPilot is the only way to go. Other than that, fins, oars, paddles, or 4 anchors just to keep you in place. We were there seeing guys with two anchors, and still drifted. Two guys with hot rods, using iPilot, and drift like crazy.

Yep wind is no friend..

I really rely on the I-Piolt for my anchor and if the winds get up to 5-6 mph its too much of a battle. Can't pull an anchor and never tried the sock (keep threatening to).

Yeah Ken, way to much effort

No fun unless your anchored and the fish are biting . I use a drift sock for drifting sometimes .If its real windy I'll anchor and look for a wall or rip rap or bank the wind is pushing to. Sometimes the fish are hitting great in the wind. Also anchoring off a  hump and fishing the edges works .When the  wind is ridiculous, like it looks here, ya just gotta pack it in though .

I actually avoid fishing windy days. To much effort in boat control

Wow, White caps. Looks like the day that we went out on our kayaks. We have such unpredictable wind patterns.
