This is why I want to get a replica.......Best looking Flier I've ever caught!

This is the size and color I'm hoping to replicate Dwayne.....This is not the biggest but the prettiest Flier I've ever seen........I felt good releasing this fish but I have regretted it several times when I look at Tim Overbaugh's mastery.....A fish like this would carry the banner nicely for the species that many know little about......

Still my favorite Flier picture of all time!  Check out the metallic green around the fins on this fish! Incredible specimen....

Getting excited about this year's Flier fishing as well.......I released this one in the Pasquotank River last year so maybe another angler will feel the thrill and admire this beautiful Sunfish....I was happy that I could share it with the members here......Join the FRIENDS OF THE FLIERS group if you like Fliers........

Looking forward to the new members sharing their photos with the group. Big bluegill rock but we enjoy all sunfish including Fliers, Warmouth, Seeds and Shellcrackers......

Yes Bill, this one took the live cricket offering....I usually like to use grass shrimp in the locations that I actually target Fliers...I was hunting for Bluegill when this fish hammered the bait in Buckskin Creek......After landing it was a pleasant surprise.....Release was easy because the fish was just lip hooked.....

This fish looks like it could really bring a fight.....is that a cricket in its yap?

The range is very small compared to other sunfish Dick.....I don't know the exact range but I have personally caught Fliers in Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina......I never caught Fliers growing up in Louisiana...........Although the places I catch them are more like swamps and low oxygen environments......

Jeff do you know if this fish is only in the southern states.
