New Lake Record "Bluegill" from California lake..
Jonathon Wilowiak of Winchester caught this new Lake Skinner Record fish, which the lake is calling a Bluegill. Looks like a big Redear to me. Weighed 3.69 pounds! A trophy fish whatever it is!

Tony, I see what you are saying. Conspicuous by its absence is any sort of rim on the opercle.
And there is a hint of vertical striping, too.

There's a lot of redear in it, but I think there's something else (bluegill) in there also....no matter what it is, it's fantastic!!
