Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

A pair of monarchs popeye jigs under a float tipped with live crickets or pink maggots…….these are incredible fish for public water…….Cody has grown up fishing with me but he told me on the way home, “ this was my best fishing trip ever”…..that’s all I needed……

Thanks Tracy….I dearly value the time with our five grandchildren and it’s especially meaningful when it’s out wetting a line…once Cody told me on the way home that this day was his best fishing trip…..the satisfaction for me goes out the roof…..I’ve been loving a chance. To fish for nearly 60 years…..but these are very special days……..if one person enjoys my photos it makes it worth it…….thanks again Tracy!

Definitely Bruce…he was very excited on this trip and he added a couple quality largemouth so it was complete……I started catching fish on this island in the late 90s……with the exception of 2008, these huge Coppernose have piled into the same cypress flats……in 2008, we were in a bad drought and salt water inundated the area and pushed them further inland….but we’ve had a very wet March so things should be in order…..

Jealous, Man! Made a few casts down the road between 11:30 and noon but WT was 42. May wait a few hours and try again. Nice catch, Cody!
