This is about half of today's Crappie....most were between 9 to 12 inches.......

Absolutely Jim.....you can have an entire box and they only hit one type of jig or somedays they'll hit anything....most of these fish are 3/4 to a pound Leo.....my favorite for tablefare......We always fish different baits until we find what they want and shift over...

I have found that when crappie are on a hot bite a variety of jigs/colors may work and that tipping is unneccessary. Then they can get tough, and specific colors, sizes or perhaps bait tipping is needed to catch them. You too...?

I caught several on that hackle collared Grass Shrimp Jim....wanted to drop it in on hitting fish and they jumped on even untipped a couple times.....
